When meeting with a large staffing firm client concerns were raised about an existing Human Resources Information System (HRIS.) The client asked for recommendations on systems we felt were a good fit, including estimated costs. While they were not planning to change their payroll system, their concerns with their current HRIS solution included: being outdated, not accessible remotely, allows for people to enroll in too much life, multiple medical plans, and does not provide confidence in accuracy. After further understanding of their general needs, concerns and goals for a future state, team Hylant moved into action with our technology consultant partner.

Solution

Through an initial discovery call with the client team, including their Director of IT and Hylant's technology consultant, we learned more about the current technology, challenges, wish list, etc. From that call, all parties agreed the best next step was to engage in a formal vetting and selection support process to determine if other solution providers may be a better fit based on pricing and capabilities.

Hylant's technology consultant did an excellent job with coordinating solution provider selection support process responses, presenting comparisons and setting up demonstrations with vendor finalists. A collaborative approach was used throughout the vetting process, which was integral to the success, as not everyone on the client team used the system in the same ways. For example, HR and recruiting needed different capabilities from that of the benefits team, and those differed from what was feasible from the IT team.
