Hylant Announces Evolution of Leadership Roles to Continue Growth

June 16, 2023

Toledo, OH June 12, 2023 – Hylant is making key leadership transitions to lean into the strengths of proven leaders, improve cross-company collaboration and boost core capabilities, the company announced Monday.

Lisa Hawker, previously the president of employee benefits operations at Hylant, has been named Chief Growth Officer, effective immediately. In her new position, Hawker will further develop the organization’s vision and strategy for growth. Her 18-year career at Hylant has laid a solid foundation upon which she will help develop short- and long-term business growth strategies alongside our executive leaders. Lisa will continue to build brand equity in the marketplace with carriers, business influencers and strategic community partners, including Worldwide Broker Network, Butler University, and C.I.A.B.

Additionally, Mark Nixon, Kim Riley and Matt Hylant have been named Chief Operating Officers for employee benefits, commercial, and small business, respectively. In these roles, the C.O.O.s will oversee the day-to-day client experience focusing on service execution. Their appointments ensure that service teams are well-positioned to deliver on clients’ insurance and advisory needs.

“Our business is a living, breathing thing that will only continue to evolve to meet the needs of our clients and employees,” said Bubba Berenzweig, C.E.O. “These leadership transitions are crucial to connecting the dots behind the scenes and allowing us to serve our people and our clients better.”

These appointments come on the heels of a period of strategic change for Hylant, all aimed at enhancing the client and employee experiences at Hylant. In the past 18 months, Hylant has seen Berenzweig take the helm as C.E.O. upon the retirement of Mike Hylant; investments in data analytics, captive solutions, M&A and transaction solutions and alternative workforce solutions; scholarships to Butler University students studying in the Davey Risk Management and Insurance program; and expansion into new markets, including Mexico, North Carolina, Texas and Georgia.

“Evolution is natural,” said Berenzweig. “As we continue to grow, we will always focus on protecting our culture and continually improving for future generations.”
