The Hylant MBA

I signed Kurtis up for the Hylant MBA [2025 cohort] because of his potential. Your program turned that potential into reality—taking him from being our best 'marketing guy' to mastering national brokers to being promoted to an Officer of Central, overseeing 25% of all our revenue in our backyard, the Midwest. The Hylant MBA was a win-win-win: great for Kurtis, which is great for Central, and great for Central + Hylant.

When notice of acceptance was issued, I was beyond thrilled to be included in this elite program and couldn’t wait for the journey to begin. It has not disappointed! Throughout this entire experience, I’ve expanded along with the individuals in my cohort, and we have all made each other better because of the learnings, trust and respect given and received.

From my heart to yours, very grateful for the wonderful gift of knowledge and wisdom that you have afforded me through this program! You truly have no idea what this opportunity has meant to me, and I’m humbled by all the kind words and encouragement along the path.

Coming to Hylant without a business or insurance background, the Hylant MBA gave me the foundation I needed to confidently navigate complex business topics. It elevated my understanding of strategy, leadership, and family business dynamics, making me a stronger, more insightful consultant for clients. One of the most valuable outcomes was building strong relationships across regions and departments—I now have 23 close colleagues within the organization whom I turn to for support and collaboration. Without this program, our paths likely wouldn’t have crossed. I’m also incredibly grateful for the exposure to Hylant leadership and the Hylant family, which deepened my connection to our company’s core values.

Joining the Hylant MBA cohort was a game-changer for me. As the only participant from our Cleveland office, it created a rare opportunity to build meaningful connections across Hylant's footprint. We’ve developed a trusted network where we can openly share challenges and lean on each other for advice, something that’s already impacting our day-to-day work. The international nature of the cohort also broadened my perspective, showing that leadership challenges are universal across industries. Personally, the program helped me step into my own identity beyond being 'my dad’s son.' With a science background, gaining business acumen and leadership skills has empowered me to contribute more confidently to our executive leadership team, especially during tough conversations around budgeting and strategy. This program is building stronger, more equipped leaders, and that’s a huge win for Hylant.

All of the topics covered were things I deal with every day. I was excited to learn from some of the world’s best thinkers about how to deal with some of those issues, what to look for, and how to achieve desirable outcomes. Hylant is very entrepreneurial, and when I got into my position, they trusted me to do things the right way and by and large, I have. But there wasn't a rule book that showed me what to do and what not to do, so it was really interesting to be educated on those topics.
