Hylant Named as 2021 Difference Maker by Damar

November 23, 2021

Indianapolis, IN November 15, 2021 – Hylant has been awarded the 2021 Difference Maker Award, an annual honor presented to those individuals and organizations dedicated to making life better for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said Dave Norris, president of Hylant Indianapolis. “Since our company’s founding more than 85 years ago, we have been dedicated to giving back to the communities where we live and work, and we are proud to be recognized for those efforts.”

Hylant, a Damar partner for nearly 10 years, has an established culture of caring. Through event sponsorships, donations and volunteering, Hylant has helped promote Damar’s mission of promoting services for people with developmental, behavioral and intellectual disabilities.

The Difference Maker award honors those who go the extra mile, providing extra care, reaching beyond what’s expected and offering solutions where none existed before. For more than 50 years, Damar has set themselves apart by delivering remarkable care and remarkable results for remarkable people of all ages with a wide range of needs, and Hylant has been a proud partner of that mission.

“As Damar continues to grow, Hylant has really understood,” said Dr., Jim Dalton, president and CEO of Damar. “They’ve kept up pace with us. They know where we are going, and they’re right there with us. That’s what makes them a great and remarkable partner.”

“It is really satisfying to work for an organization who continually makes investments in the communities and organizations I care for,” said Nate Peterman, senior vice president at Hylant. “Hylant’s core corporate values of family, community and empathy accurately reflect the heart of our team.”

Hylant’s dedication to supporting non-profits extends across the entire footprint and includes its own nonprofit, the Hylant Family Foundation. Other efforts include Community Stories by Hylant, an initiative focused on sharing the personal stories of those who have benefited from the services of non-profits; Pollyball, an annual event to raise money for breast cancer research; and sponsorships, donations and volunteer work through all Hylant communities.
