September 8, 2021

Toledo, OH Sept. 7, 2021 – Taylor Martin (Purdue University Northwest), Anthony Russell (Bowling Green State University), Kinley Longest (Butler University) and Noah Reinstein (Butler University), summer interns at Hylant, have been selected as recipients of a $5,000 scholarship for the 2021-22 academic year, as announced today by The Council Foundation.

“Our interns proved themselves to be essential to our business this summer,” said Deborah Bubp, chief talent officer at Hylant. “We take our responsibilities to our interns very seriously, ensuring they receive real-life experience in the insurance world, and they have truly impressed us. We are very proud of the recognition of their talent and dedication to the industry.”

The Council Foundation’s mission is to bring fresh, diverse talent into the brokerage sector by way of internships with member firms of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. In awarding the scholarships, an independent selection committee looks for candidates who have the potential to excel as leaders and contributors in the commercial insurance brokerage business sector.

“There is so much opportunity within our industry, and internships are crucial to introducing young professionals to commercial insurance and the impact they can have within a brokerage firm,” said Ken A. Crerar, president/CEO of The Council. “We’re grateful to our member firms who continue to invest in efforts to recruit and develop the next generation of insurance professionals.”

The Council Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable educational organization instituted by the Washington, D.C.-based Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. Part of the Foundation’s core mission is to secure the future of the commercial insurance brokerage business by attracting and developing tomorrow’s talent, like Martin, Russell, Longest, and Reinstein.

The interns are among 50 college students across the country who received Council Foundation scholarships this year.

Hylant is one of the largest privately owned insurance brokerage firms in the nation. Since 1935, the company has been committed to helping businesses and individuals protect the things that matter most to them.
